Frequently Asked Questions about the Battle of the Corporate Bands. Please note -- This is a charitable event designed to help us raise funds for impoverished children in Tanzania, India and Nicaragua. We're interested in working with bands and individuals who have big hearts and are willing to donate some time and energy to help children around the globe improve their lives. Q: What is the Battle of the Corporate Bands? A: The Battle of the Corporate Bands is an event sponsored by A School Bell Rings and Kids4Kids360. The event is designed to raise funds to help support our educational programs in Africa, India and Latin America. Q: Are you an official non-profit? A: Yes, A School Bell Rings is an official 501c3 registered with the U.S. Government. Q: What do we have to do to participate? A: You'll be asked to send emails out to friends, family and business associates who would like to see you play. Ticket holders get food, a drink ticket and the opportunity to participate in our live and silent auction. Best of all, they get to hear you play in front of nearly 200 people! Q: What kind of bands are you looking for? A: We're looking for corporate bands. By that, we mean bands made up of people who work in corporate America and who play in a band on the side. Any kind of music is fine -- classic rock, modern rock or country. Actually, come to think of it, if you're playing thrash metal, you're probably not a good fit. Otherwise, pretty much any kind of music is cool. Q: When is the event? A: It's currently scheduled for Saturday, May 8th at the Retreat of Dunwoody. Q: Who else has signed up? A: Bands from large corporations in and around Atlanta, including the American Cancer Society, the School of Rock, BKV, Wellstar and other well-known companies. Q: How long will we play? A: Each band will get approximately 30 minutes to play five to seven tunes. Q: What are you expecting from the bands? A: We're looking for bands who are willing to donate an evening to help us raise funds for the children we support in Africa, India and Latin America. One of the ways we raise funds is through online ticket sales to the event. Our goal is for each band to help us sell 50 tickets to the event. All you have to do is get your friends, family and business associates to buy a ticket on our website in support of your efforts. Q: What will the venue be like? A: You'll be in a large room with a professional PA system and sound technician. Several hundred people attend our events. Q: We're interested. How can we find out more information? A: Please feel free to email Shanta Dube, who is one of our volunteers. She'll answer any of your questions. She'll also be running our "meet the other bands" meeting in March where you'll be able to ask additional questions about the event. | ||||||||
